Los Angeles-born bassist of the funk duo Brothers Johnson ('Strawberry Letter 23,' 'Stomp!'), produced by Quincy Jones. Played bass on 9 of 10 tracks on Michael Jackson's Off the Wall and co-wrote 'Get on the Floor.' Also played on Thriller including 'Billie Jean.' Known as 'Thunder Thumbs' for his pioneering slap technique. Passed away 2015.
