Richmond, VA, United States

Richmond, Virginia-born neo-soul pioneer. Voodoo (2000) brought together Pino Palladino (bass), Questlove (drums), Roy Hargrove (trumpet), and Charlie Hunter, becoming a landmark of the genre. Chris Dave rose to global recognition through touring with D'Angelo's band The Vanguard. The extended Electric Lady Studios sessions dissolved the boundary between jazz and R&B.
