Hartford, Connecticut-born Toto keyboardist ('Africa,' 'Rosanna') who co-wrote 'Human Nature' for Michael Jackson's Thriller. The melody began as a tune he wrote for his daughter after she came home crying from school; David Paich added lyrics. Also played synthesizer on Quincy Jones's jazz album The Dude, crossing jazz and pop sessions.
