Pennsylvania-born trumpeter who co-founded the Brecker Brothers with his brother Michael, pioneering jazz-funk and fusion. Seven Grammy Awards. Has also performed with Blood, Sweat & Tears, Horace Silver, Art Blakey, and Charles Mingus. Participated in the New York sessions for SMAP's SMAP 007 ~Gold Singer~ and the Smappies project.

His albums feature Will Lee (bass), Jim Keltner (drums — known for John Lennon, Bob Dylan), Larry Goldings (keys), David Hood (bass, Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section), and Greg Leisz (pedal steel). In 2019 he performed at Will Lee's "East Meets West" event alongside Randy BreckerRandy BreckerRandy Breckerランディ・ブレッカー, Mike Stern, and Akiko Yano.
