Kurt Rosenwinkel (b. 1970) — Guitar, Vocals. Led The Next Step, The Remedy. Worked with Mark Turner, Jeff Ballard, Ben Street.

Rosenwinkel brought a new sense of tone color to jazz guitar. His use of effects creates a floating quality, while his phrasing moves freely through complex harmonies. Frequent collaborator with Mark Turner and Brad Mehldau, he has defined one of the most distinctive sounds in contemporary jazz.

Turner and Kurt RosenwinkelKurt RosenwinkelKurt Rosenwinkelカート・ローゼンウィンケル met at Berklee and became central figures in the NYC post-bop scene of the late 1990s. Rosenwinkel's complex harmony and Turner's dry, oblique lines fed each other. They appeared on each other's albums repeatedly, co-authoring the contemporary jazz guitar and saxophone vocabulary.
