Cobham participated in the Bitches Brew sessions, then detonated with John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra. His power and speed are simply beyond category, and he physically demolished the boundary between jazz and rock. His solo album Spectrum is the landmark of fusion drumming.
